The BAT Workshop: An Improv Format in the Dark!

Fall is here, and so is one of our most popular workshops! The Bat is an improvised format you’ll have to hear to believe: a soundscape of voices, words, and images that takes place entirely in the minds of the audience. This four-hour workshop introduces students to building sound scapes, using sounds and words equally, sharing characters, and losing oneself (safely) in the ensemble! The Bat offers a thrilling sense of freedom for the performer. You’ll leave this workshop bewitched by all its possibilities.

This course will focus on:

• Deep listening
• Ensemble work
• Following associations and dream symbols
• Creating & sharing soundscapes and characters
• Letting go and finding freedom in the dark

• In-person four hour workshop
• Monday, October 12 from 6-10pm CST
• Instructor: Greg Mihalik
• Recommended: Previous improv experience
