The Bass Bash - Presented by Simms

Join us for the inaugural ASGA Bass Bash, an evening of Art and Advocacy in Portland, ME supporting Striped Bass! Rising Tide Brewery in downtown Portland will be our gracious hosts for an amazing evening with the local angling community. This event will kick off the 5th Annual All Species tournament weekend, and all tournament anglers get free entry!

This event is far more than your average “captains meeting”. Groovy live music will be provided by Damn B, a Portland band. Food highlighting local ingredients will be curated by the impeccable chefs at Rising Tide and guest features from Leeward and Eventide Oyster Co. Wash it all down with some delicious libations provided by Oxbow and Rising Tide, including the new Striper Season beer!

The event will have a welcoming atmosphere intended to engage all anglers and anyone interested in art, conservation, and the outdoors community. Furthermore, there will be several well-known sporting and local artists creating live art pieces on-site, including Nick Mayer, Matt of Forged Fly, Mike Savlen, and Derek from Lowtide Lumber! Each of our creators will have an opportunity to finish a piece live on site, giving patrons direct access to engage with the artists and learn more about their processes. As well as the opportunity to purchase some fantastic fishy art!

We are proud to present one of the most extensive live and silent auctions to date.** Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to engage with interactive art installments that increase awareness of critical issues with our striped bass fishery and inspire heartfelt advocacy for its long-term conservation. Come (re)connect with industry folks, get educated on ASGA's Striper Initiative, enjoy a curated experience of art, food, and beverage, and set the vibe for an unforgettable weekend.

For those looking to get a deeper understanding behind the ASGA Striper Initiative and the local Portland food & beverage scene, look no further than the VIP pre-party. A Friday night happy hour that goes beyond that of the normal Bass Bash.

All guests will be given a behind the scenes look at the brewing process at Rising Tide, including the method for creating the first "beer that saves striped bass". Next, James Beard award semi-finalist chef Jake Stevens will take our VIP's through a unique, hands-on culinary experience. Finally, Maine's own Captain Kyle Schaefer and Captain Cody Rubner will share some stories and information regarding the Striper Initiative and the amazing work being done at ASGA.
