The Banqueting House, Gibside Open Days September 2023

Join us to explore The Banqueting House on either Saturday 16 or Sunday 17 September 2023. Please ensure you select the correct date when booking your ticket. We are opening this building in association with Heritage Open Days.

The Banqueting House, a Gothic folly, sits on the edge of the National Trust’s Gibside Park. It stands in the highest part of the park in a grassy clearing, looking down on an octagonal pool with views to the Derwent Valley and beyond. The Banqueting house is a smaller building and access has to be managed sensibly to ensure visitor safety.

Please note that your entry ticket allows you access to the building but you are welcome to explore the grounds of Gibside Park (managed by The National Trust) before and after your entry. Parking will be available in the National Trust Gibside carpark. Please note that there is quite a walk between this car park and The Banqueting House.

Admission is free, leaflets on the building's history and children's activity sheets will be available on site.
