Pune is a great place for flexing your literary skills with its poetry communities organising several poetry sessions over the weekends. You, too, must have attended your own fair share of such events and recited at many open mics and poetry slams yourself.
To complement this flurry of activities, Baithak and Beyond brings to you the Baithak Classroom, a series of lectures on literary analysis and criticism that shall engage with literature across languages! While we are honing the skill of writing, it is also important to brush up the analytical eye, learning to read between and beyond the lines. The Baithak Classroom will be beneficial not only for those who wish to study literature better but artists, too, so as to help them approach their art from a new perspective. This series will be facilitated by teachers and artists who have demonstrated experience in the field of literary criticism.
To that end, we are delighted to announce the first session of the Baithak Classroom on 2nd October 2024! One that we hope shall kick off a memorable experience for all of us in the community.

Topic: A quintessential dramatic monologue in English, infamous for its narrative twist.
The lecture will be facilitated by Mr. Saad Ahmed, a poet-storyteller, PhD scholar, and Assistant Professor teaching English Language & Literature and Creative Writing at Modern College and Symbiosis School of Liberal Arts.
You're encouraged to bring writing material to take notes during the session. You're also requested to be at the venue half an hour early i. e. 04:00 pm. Let's try to start Pune shows on time, shall we?
