The Backyard Open Day

Come and join us for the Open Day of The Backyard🌳

The Backyard Play Reserve in Linwood Waterway is the first community adventure playspace of its kind in New Zealand.
This is a space to let your tamariki play freely, as you did in your backyard when you were young, climbing trees, digging holes, building huts, swinging high, balancing on wobbly boards, cooking with mud, or rolling down a slope. There will be lots of loose parts to imagine and create with.
Nothing fancy, but the simple joy of childhood, and that is the kind of play that supports the healthy development of tamariki.
This is also a space for building connections in the community; as tamariki play, whānau can connect with each other.
*There will be face painting and a bake stall for fundraising for the Backyard's operation. So bring some cash with you, too!😉
