AUTHOR LECTURE AND SIGNING Join us to learn more about the author, her process, German songs, history, and the immigration of settlers of the 1800’s.
Barbara Ortwein was born and raised in Germany and as a part of an exchange program, she accompanied a group of students to Texas. While visiting she realized the historical connections between her own region of Germany and the Texas Hill Country.
In the following years, she began research in both Germany and Texas for her first Texas book Between Worlds Never to Return. The sequels, In the Heart Of Texas But Not Yet At Home as well as At Journey’s End: Texans Forever!, follow the same main characters of German descent, Karl and Johann Engelbach.
