At the time, Alice Cooper’s Welcome to My Nightmare Tour was the most expensive worldwide concert tour ever undertaken. It began on March 21, 1975 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, making its way across the States through to July, then onto Europe in August, ending on September 17 in Antwerp, Belgium. The tour was supposed to include Australia and New Zealand in 1975. However, it was banned by Australia's then labor government minister for the arts; Clyde Cameron, only to eventually tour here in March and April 1977.
Every large scale touring production since, has Alice Cooper to thank. Numerous performers count Alice amongst their biggest influences including no less than ; Michael Jackson, Madonna, Lady Gaga and KISS.
