The Austin Story Slam - Theme "Chemistry"

The Story Slam will consist of 8 stories. We will have 3 judges and are working on an audience judging component. Stories should be from 4 - 6 minutes. Any story over 6 minutes is disqualified from a win that night. What does the winner get? Bragging rights? A delightful prize? We're working on that.

These are the guidelines to score a story

1. meet the theme in some way2. be a true personal story3. have some sort of story arc, beginning and ending4. performance5. told from memory (no notes allowed)6. meet the time requirementsTechnical Guidelines

1. points deducted for not meeting time requirements (either too short, or over 6 minutes)2. any language that is derogatory towards any person on a basis of sexuality, race or religion3. stories are told at a stationary microphone
