HOW TO FIND US:
We meet in room 383. Park near the South East side of the building. Enter through the doors under the “FITNESS” sign. Once through the doors, there should be signs directing you to the right towards the elevators. Take the Elevators to the 3rd floor. When coming out of the elevator, go straight ahead to the end of the hall and turn right. We are toward the end of that hallway on your right. If you need assistance getting to the room please call Marty at (248) 961-7235.

Sunday Assembly Detroit is a secular congregation that meets to hear great talks and generally celebrate the wonder of life. It’s a service for anyone who wants to live better, help often, and wonder more.
This free event is in beautiful Farmington Hills. We'll listen to a talk then enjoying a meal during the event.
**Speaker**
We don't have clergy; instead, we have local community leaders and thinkers. This month ‭Dr. Ann Burton will give a talk titled "Why Celebrate The 4th of July?"
Here's a taste of the talk:
What did you plan to do on the 4th of July? Display your bunting and American flag? Hold a family cookout featuring bbq, hot dogs, and apple pie? Or, as always, be grateful for just another day off, in line with “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?”
Activist Rev Al Sharpton advised black Americans to boycott any celebrations of our 250th anniversary. “We were slaves…it is crazy for black Americans to celebrate the 4th.” Other groups and individuals have expressed similar views. Come join us for a presentation/discussion, and explore this decision from a historical perspective.
**Our Program**
1. Welcome and Gathering Statement
2. Quick agenda outline
3. Speaker and speech introduction
4. Speaker gives a talk
5. Dismissal for food
6. Everyone comes back to the table(s)
7. Brief toast/address, including some short recognition of "life happens" (ie. Birthdays, other news)
8. We dig in! Feel free to chat about whatever.
9. Cleanup and taking leftovers home
**Childcare**
Families with children are encouraged to attend! There is free childcare during the talk.
**Radically Inclusive**
We are a radically inclusive community and we welcome our LGBTQIA+ brothers, sisters, and siblings.
We also welcome everyone along the secular/religious spectrum. Whatever your degree of religion, spirituality, or utter lack thereof, you are welcome here. As an organization, we don't do religious, spiritual, or supernatural things, but we don't dwell on that -- rather, we focus on Humanism and its associated values.
**About the Speaker**

**We can't wait to see you!**
If you're looking for an inviting and positive community, you've come to the right place. We look forward to getting to know you if you're new and welcoming you back home if you've been before.
