About this Event

The Art of Urban Sketching : Food and Drink

Have you ever been on holiday and taken in a beautiful view, wandered through a town and noticed a piece of architecture that made you smile, or sat in a café, museum, or market watching the hustle and bustle of everyday life — and thought, “If only I could capture this moment as a sketch”?

If you’ve ever felt that way but didn’t know where to start, this session is for you.

This relaxed, welcoming workshop is open to all abilities and is designed to help you discover the joy of sketching on location. You’ll learn how to understand what you’re seeing and how to translate it onto the page — whether that’s buildings, people, or the atmosphere of a place. This month builds on the previous session on PERSPECTIVE, and LINE AND FORM, LITTLE PEOPLE and this time focuses on Food and Drink as very often when you are out and about that may turn out to be the best thing available.

Be prepared to leave your worries at the door, slow down, and take your first steps into the world of urban sketching.

This event will be taking in the beautiful cafe market space of the co-working offices of Patch (see details below)

Your tutor, Rory Neary, has years of experience sketching on location and will be your guide throughout the session.
