The Art of the Tee

Why T-shirts?
Before the internet, I wanted to get art in front of as many people as possible.
Why did art need to wait inside a gallery for someone to find it? A painted shirt could walk through a city, enter a classroom, go to a concert, and start a conversation with a stranger.
I thought of every shirt as a piece of public art—and every person wearing one as a moving gallery.
That idea is at the center of The Art of the Tee, my one-day Portland pop-up exhibition on December 5.
Wear the Joy.
