The Arts Program of the Aspen Institute, in partnership with Eaton DC, presents a conversation about the transformative role of the arts in shaping the places we call home.
World-renowned artist and sculptor Janet Echelman joins Aaron Myers II, Executive Director of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, for a moderated dialogue on how artists’ voices influence the identity, vitality, and future of cities. Together, they will explore the power of public art to create more connected, inspiring, and desirable places to live—and why the arts are essential to the development of thriving communities.
What happens when artists help shape the city itself? This conversation, moderated by Danielle Baussan, interim Executive Vice President of Policy Programs and Director of the Arts Program at the Aspen Institute, will spark a provocative exploration of how art can ignite civic imagination, deepen our sense of place, and transform the way we experience—and envision—our environment.
