The Art of the Ballad: One Week Singing Intensive August 3rd - August 5th

Some songs deserve your full attention. This intensive is designed for singers and actors who want to dedicate focused time to a single musical theater ballad, refining every aspect of the performance through personalized coaching, rehearsal, and live performance.
Working on one piece throughout the intensive, you'll strengthen breath support, vocal stamina, sustained phrasing, lyric interpretation, and emotional specificity while exploring the balance between vocal technique and truthful storytelling. Rather than dividing your attention across multiple songs, you'll have the opportunity to dig deeper, make discoveries, and develop a performance that feels fully realized.
Throughout the intensive, you'll:
Develop a musical theater ballad through focused coaching and rehearsal.
Strengthen breath support, vocal stamina, and sustained phrasing.
Explore lyrics as dramatic text to create specific, playable choices.
Deepen emotional connection while maintaining healthy vocal technique.
Refine your performance in preparation for The Ballad Showcase.
The intensive culminates in The Ballad Showcase, where you'll perform your work on the LACAE stage for family, friends, and fellow artists. You'll leave with a stronger command of your material, healthier vocal habits, and a polished performance that can continue to serve you in auditions, cabarets, concerts, and future performance opportunities.
