About this Event
Puppets are artificial figures that represent a human being or an animal, and in some cases, a mythical animal with a sparkling personality. Just think about Big Bird or Miss Piggy!
Puppets have been around for over 4,000 years and have been used to animate stories, convey ideas and are often part of religious ceremonies in certain cultures. More recently, puppets entertain us…Cookie Monster, Bert and Ernie? The list goes on.
Join us on Monday, February 10 at 6:15 p.m. for an in-person look at the art of puppetry. Our guest will be Roberto Ferreira, a puppeteer with an extensive background in the industry. He has worked with Jim Henson and has written and directed many short films featuring his puppets. As Mr. Ferreira says, "Puppet are for everyone from 9 months to 90 years." We look forward to having him visit us.
Note: This program is limited to 65 participants. Please register for a ticket to attend.
Presented by the Sherman Oaks Friends of the Library.
