Participants will pull and pour sheets of handmade paper, experiment with origami, collage, marble, print, and construct their own book*. You will learn about artists past to present from Pablo Picasso to Mark Bradford, and examine the role of paper in a variety of art movements, including Cubism, Surrealism, Expressionism, and Afro Surrealism. Students will develop an understanding of the significant impact of paper in the world of art and around the globe!
*simple books: snake book, star book, 3-hole + 4-hole stab binding techniques
