Join Mia Slattery from Kinected Collective (Birth/ Postpartum Doula & Multidisciplinary Creative) and Ange Castillo from Embodied Me (Intuitive Occupational Therapist & Multidisciplinary Creative) for The Art of Motherhood: Child friendly sessions, a creative sanctuary designed for the woman immersed in the role of mother who is ready to carve out time for themselves and the spark that has been dormant for too long.
We'll guide you through artistic practices that can be replicated and explored further at home with your kids, so the creative exploration is as much for you as it for them.
In a world that often demands we 'do' more, we invite you to simply 'be.'
This workshop is a safe, child friendly space to explore motherhood as a creative practice. This workshop is about reconnecting with your creative rhythm and taking home practical tips and tricks on how to reintroduce a spark of creativity into your life.
Using the intersection of intuitive movement, sensory-conscious design, and low-stakes art, we will set fire to the creative spark that is ready to be lit within every mama.
The Details:
When: Friday, 9th October 2026 from 9am - 12pm
Where: Ipswich Community Art Gallery Workshop Space, Darcy Doyle Place
Who:
- These sessions are child friendly with helpful extra hands to entertain little ones while mums get creative.
- If you have bubs in arms, you are also welcome!
- Even if your child is at school (primary or high school) you are still welcome to attend on your own!
These are mixed age sessions but mothers of stages and ages are welcome, with two time slots available to book into to work with varied sleep schedules and family routines.
Remember: No creative experience needed. Just bring yourself, your little ones, some curiousity and an open heart.
Light refreshments and nibbles provided.
Let’s set fire to the creative spark that is ready to be lit within every mama. We look forward to holding this space with you.
