About this Event
Intro to Kusamono
Discover the beauty of kusamono—the Japanese art of planting grasses, wildflowers, and mosses in unique containers to reflect the seasons and natural landscapes. Often displayed alongside bonsai, kusamono arrangements capture the quiet poetry of nature in miniature form.
In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll explore the history and philosophy of kusamono, learn plant selection and care techniques, and create your own arrangement to take home. Our instructor David Kuntz will guide students in creating their own Kusamono garden. Class fee includes instruction, garden container, plants and misc materials to achieve a garden uniquely tailored to each partcipant.
Perfect for plant lovers, bonsai enthusiasts, or anyone looking to deepen their appreciation of seasonal beauty. No prior experience required!
