About this Event
As Francis Weller reminds us: "Grief has never been private; it has always been communal." This is an invitation to remember that together.
Join us for two evenings of ritual, art, storytelling, writing, and community, where grief large and small can be witnessed, held, and honored. We'll gather inside The Garden of Grief and Gladness — an immersive art installation designed to hold the many layers of grief. Participants welcome to attend one or both.
May 20 - Opening Ritual: We open by exploring the landscape of grief through the art, touching what we carry individually and together.
June 17 - Closing Ritual: We close by honoring what has arisen and what has shifted — in us and in the community.
These rituals are facilitated with care by four grief tenders: Danielle Rifkin, Daniel Maynard, Sarah D'Antoni, and Sydney Badik.
ABOUT THE GARDEN OF GRIEF AND GLADNESS
The Garden of Grief and Gladness is an immersive art show comprised of 10 rooms (portals) designed to evoke the experience of ‘walking through’ the realities of grief. Some rooms are literal, some abstract. Each one serving to drop the viewer beneath language into a realm pure emotion and experiencing. Discover more here.
