This is the perfect course to learn or improve your goldwork skills. Each month you will look at and learn traditional and contemporary techniques and make a small goldwork embroidery to showcase the skills you have mastered. To start, you will look at the basics such as couching and applying leather, quickly progressing to less used, more advanced and unusual techniques such as Or Nue or laying cutwork purls over soft string. You will use cut purls and checks, plate, bullion and coloured wires.
Kathleen will demonstrate and guide you to perfect many of the less used techniques to elevate your goldwork to an exciting new level.
This course takes place over 6 dates in 2026: Thursdays 4 June, 2 July, 6 August, 3 September, 1 October and 5 November. The cost is for all six dates. The dates are not transferable. Should you be unable to attend a date, you will still be provided with the course materials provided by Kathleen for that date.
