Most of us know Savasana as the final pose in a yoga class, but savasana is traditionally known as "corpse pose" not because it’s about death, but because it’s a practice of being completely still, letting go of effort, and allowing something to fully end.In a culture that rarely pauses long enough to finish anything, this matters more than we realize.
This Friday evening workshop is an invitation to explore savasana as a skillful practice of completion - a way the body and nervous system integrate experience, release accumulated tension, and settle before moving into what’s next.
Through gentle, teaching, quiet reflection and simple embodied practices you will be guided to let the week land, soften what you’ve been carrying, and experience what it feels like to truly rest.
This evening will include.
-A short accessible talk on why savasana is called corpse pose and what it teaches us about stillness, surrender and completion.
-A simple collective mandala-making practice to physically mark our awareness that we continuously end and rebegin.
-A guided meditation inspired by the traditional meaning of savasana focused on release, rest, and gentle renewal.
-Along supported savasana for settling and integration.
This is not a heavy, emotional, or existential experience. It’s quiet, grounded, and intentionally simple. There’s no pressure to process, share, or analyze. Just space to arrive, follow the guidance, and rest.
The first week of March sits at a natural threshold between winter and spring, making it a particularly supportive time to practice ending well before beginning again.
This weekend also marks my birthday, a personal moment of reflection and transition for me, and I’m grateful to mark this in a way that acknowledges where I've been, where I am, and where I'm heading.
You're invited to join me in this pause.
