The Art of Composition with Carla Hirt

In this playful, hands-on workshop, you’ll mix and match elements from a collection of original line drawings to create a composition that’s entirely your own. Experiment with scale, placement, balance, and unexpected combinations as you turn individual pieces into a cohesive work of art.

Once you’ve created your arrangement, you’ll transfer it onto canvas and bring it to life with color, so that you leave with a finished painting that’s uniquely yours!

Workshop details:

This workshop is on the porch of 108 Ruskin.

Each workshop costs $10 per person. Materials are provided. We encourage you to sign up in advance via eventbrite, but you may also sign up at our merch tent on the day of the event. Please note, workshop spots are limited and will sell out!

Please arrive at the workshop station 5-10 minutes before start time to get set up.
About the artist:

Carla Hirt wants her art to make you smile. Working primarily in colored pencils and acrylics, she makes use of cheerful colors and playful humor in her work. She believes whole-heartedly that having an outlet for creative expression is critical for one's self-care. She is a member of the CNY Art Guild, and has participated in several local art events including the Baldwinsville Art Walk and Art for Art's Sake.
