The Art of Collage with Rose Marie Strippoli

In this workshop you will add various materials and modalities to a surface enabling you to unleash your artistic expression in boundless ways through creating in you a deeper awareness of basic artistic processes as you experiment with shapes and materials. Through exploration and experimentation, you will develop the ability to loosen up your approach to art enabling a fearless exploration of your artistic potential. For example, fabrics, string, clippings, and different types of paper can be used to create art on paper, paintings, or wooden pieces resulting in unexpected and amazing mixed media pieces as you freely choose among various artistic media.

Supplies to bring with you:

1. Notebook and pencil
2. Heavy-duty paper on which to create, such as poster board, corrugated cardboard, or canvas board
3. Paste, white glue, or acrylic matte medium
4. Water based paint, pastels, crayons​, metallic paint, charcoal, inks, or anything that you'd like to work with.
5. Collage materials such as paintings, rice paper, newspapers,magazines, tissue paper,​ fabrics, cheesecloth, yarn, scrapbook paper, etc.
6. A small container to mix glue
7. A piece of cardboard to use as a disposable surface
