Skill Level: Beginner
Please note *** This is a two-day class, Saturday, November 14 & Sunday, November 15 from 9:30 am-4:30 pm.
Learn the art of forming fine silver wires on enamel to create pattern and cells of transparent color. Students will learn to create detail by texturing their silver base. Additional skills learned will be creating the perfect canvas (the silver base), lifting, wet packing, grinding, and finishing. Various troubleshooting and setting techniques will also be discussed. Students will come home with a beautiful enamel pendant. Students may work on a design provided by the instructor or their own design. This class is appropriate for beginners.
By the end of the course, you’ll have a beautifully crafted pendant that features your own design in fine silver and vibrant enamel, perfect for wearing or gifting. We will be working with Japanese-leaded enamels for the best color. All materials and tools are provided. This class is ideal for beginners as well as those with some prior jewelry-making experience—just bring your creativity and a passion for learning!
Materials Needed: Students should bring paper, pencil and eraser, sharpie marker, preferred magnification if needed (optivisor)
Please note *** A materials fee of $55 is due to the instructor at the time of the class.
