The Art Nude: Elkhart Indiana

Following the portrait workshop in Elkhart, we’re adding an additional optional day that anyone can register for: a focused, in-studio session built around one of the most distilled and demanding forms of portraiture: the Art Nude.

This is not a casual portfolio shoot. It’s a study in light, form, tone, and trust. A day designed for photographers who want to refine their eye and their approach, using light not just to illuminate, but to shape, reveal, and evoke.

We’ll go beyond modifier placement and into atmosphere creation. Every lighting decision, from soft sculptural tones to bold contrast, will be made with intent. This is where mood, dimension, and restraint become the vocabulary of your visual voice.

We’ll also explore the subtleties of gesture, posture, and direction. How presence communicates. How to lead a session with quiet confidence. And how to build trust in a way that respects both subject and image. This genre isn’t about provocation. It’s about precision, composition, and clarity of thought.

Art nude work is a powerful space to develop your skills, technically and artistically, but it demands care, maturity, and an understanding of visual nuance. If that resonates with where you are in your creative path, you’re invited to join us.

Info: Light is integral to how a mood is conveyed in a portrait, and how you complement or contrast it is something Nino loves to explore. He will review several lighting setups, and crucially, will explain *why* he lights the way he does, covering the philosophy and vision behind using light in intimate portraiture. Mixing and matching strobes with ambient, and the willingness to improvise with excitement, not disappointment.
