About this Event
Curious about taxidermy but not sure where to start? ๐ฆโจ
Join us for an in-depth live bird taxidermy demonstration led by Paloma Strong of Strong Taxidermy, a museum taxidermist with over a decade of professional experience.
During this educational session, youโll observe the complete assembly and mounting of a European goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis) while learning how museum-quality taxidermy supports conservation, scientific research, and natural history education. ๐ฟ๐ฌ๐
Open discussion and Q&A are encouraged throughout the demonstration, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and gain insight into professional techniques, ethics, and best practices. Youโre welcome to bring your curiosity, take notes, and photograph the process. ๐ธโ๏ธ
Following the workshop, all attendees will receive a PDF guide with basic bird mounting instructions to continue their learning at home. ๐โจ
Please note: this is a live demonstration and educational discussion, not a hands-on workshop.
