'The Art & Life of Casimir Markievicz' Public Lecture
About this Event
Delivered by art historian Prof. Emily Mark-FitzGerald (UCD), the lecture also explores Casimir's central place in Dublin’s bohemian circles in pre-revolutionary Dublin.
A painter, playwright, and larger-than-life personality, Casimir was a close associate of many luminaries of the Irish Revival, and the subject of a major art exhibition in Dublin Castle in 2025. This presentation will discuss Casimir’s relationship to Constance, his artistic ambitions, and the links between Ireland, Poland, and Ukraine that his life represents.
