The Art and Craft of Nonfiction Writing

This Life Writing workshop is taught by Dr. Simone Drake, a professor, author, filmmaker, and visual artist.
About this Event

This workshop focuses on the art of writing through the lens of creative nonfiction. Creative nonfiction includes memoir, life writing, and the personal essay. You will learn techniques and styles within this genre through exercises you complete and through the example of established writers. Your instructor, Simone Drake, PhD, MSL, is a professor of English at The Ohio State University, the author of many books, including her recent memoir, Becoming Educated: A Midwest Story, a filmmaker, a visual artist, and a yoga teacher. All these identities influence her holistic approach to teaching the art of writing.
