Celebrate the culture, heritage, resilience, and contributions of the Congolese community in New York City at the Annual Congolese Flag-Raising Ceremony.
Presented by the Congo Youth Coalition in collaboration with Congolese Queens of USA, Nkumu Katalay LLC, Gallery Article 15, and the NYC African Council, this special event brings together community members, elected officials, diplomats, artists, and cultural leaders to honor the Democratic Republic of the Congo and its rich cultural legacy.
The afternoon will feature live Congolese music, traditional and contemporary dance, a Kuba fashion showcase, cultural presentations, community leaders, and the official raising of the Congolese flag accompanied by the Congolese National Anthem performed by local youth. This year's gathering will also recognize the resilience of the Congolese people and raise awareness about current humanitarian and public health challenges affecting communiti
