Australian rock royalty The Angels are returning to Aotearoa for one night only at Auckland’s Powerstation on Friday 19 March 2027. Tickets go on sale Friday 28 August at 12pm via ticketmaster.co.nz.
Since their last New Zealand show in 2023, The Angels have been on the road celebrating the 50th anniversary of their NZ gold certified, debut hit ‘Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again’ an unofficial Australian national anthem and compulsory singalong embedded in pub rock culture. Playing over 25 dates in Australia, the band now extend the celebrations to New Zealand fans for one night only.
Formed in Adelaide in 1974, The Angels were instrumental in turning Australian pub rock into a global live phenomenon. Extensive touring for years throughout Australia saw The Angels become the most talked about and exciting live band. Having toured with some of the biggest names in rock, including AC/DC, David Bowie and Meat Loaf, their no frills hard driving rock saw fans turn out in record numbers paving the way for countless bands to come.
No strangers to crossing the Tasman, The Angels have spent plenty of their career filling up the Aotearoa charts. Dark Room (1980), featuring 'No Secrets' and 'Face the Day', reached the NZ Top 40, followed by Night Attack (1981), which peaked at No.14, and Howling (1986), which reached No.10. Liveline reached No.13, before Beyond Salvation became their biggest New Zealand album, peaking at No. 3 in 1990.
