CBC Week is full of rooms where you shake hands and leave with nothing. This isn’t one of them. The Angel Table is where organizations doing the real work get matched, in real time, to the funding, people, and resources they’ve been chasing alone. Come with a need. Leave with a name.

About This Event

Every year during CBC Week, thousands of people who are building something real walk into rooms built for small talk. Good energy, good drinks, forgettable outcomes. You’ve been in that room. You know exactly how it ends: a stack of cards, a phone full of names, and nothing that actually moves your work forward.

We built something different, because the old model was never going to close the gap. There’s a name for that gap: the Missing Middle. It’s the space between what organizations need and what other organizations already have, sitting right next to each other, never connecting. Funding sits unused while the organizations that need it are one room away. Volunteers, training, technology, space, all of it exists somewhere close by. It just never finds its way to the people who need it, because nothing forces it to.

The Angel Table exists to force it.

Here’s exactly what that means. When you register, you tell us what you need and what you have to offer, funding included. We use that, before you ever walk through the door, to build real matches: a specific introduction between you and another attendee, or organization, where what you need lines up with what they have, or what you have lines up with what they need. Not a name badge with a category on it. Not “you two should probably talk.” An actual, deliberate introduction, built from what you told us, made by our team in the room.

You’ll watch it happen live. Partway through the evening, we stop the room and name real matches that just occurred, specific people, specific organizations, specific needs met, right in front of everyone. That’s not a party trick. It’s proof that this works, happening in real time, before you’re asked to commit to anything else.

This is the first public introduction of The Angel Table. Not the finished platform, the beginning of it. What happens in this room on September 16 is what the platform will eventually do for organizers everywhere, every day. You’re not just attending an event. You’re stepping into the first working version of infrastructure that doesn’t exist anywhere else in this movement.

What to Expect

3:00 PM: Doors open. Food, drinks, music, real conversation. Your badge marks what you need and what you bring, so the room starts sorting itself before anything officially begins.

3:30 PM: Four voices, no panel, no filler. A strategist, an attorney focused on funding and structure, an organizer, and a mobilizer each take a few sharp minutes to name what’s broken and point you straight into the room.

3:45 PM: Structured matching begins. The room is organized by theme, funding, volunteers, technology, training, communications, and our team actively connects the people whose needs and resources line up. This isn’t mingling. This is matchmaking.

4:45 PM: The Reveal. We bring the room together and name real matches made that hour. You watch the model work.

5:15 PM: The Ask. Complete your Angels Table profile and stay inside the infrastructure that just worked for you.

6:00 PM: Doors close. You walk into the rest of CBC Week with something you didn’t have at 3:00.

What exactly is a “match”?

A specific introduction between you and another attendee or organization, built from what you told us at registration, where a stated need meets a stated resource. It’s made by our team, in the room, based on real data, not chance.

What if I arrive late?

Come anyway. Registration and check-in stay open all evening, and your badge and zone signage carry everything you need to jump into matching immediately, no recap required.

What should I bring?

Just yourself and a clear sense of what you need and what you can offer. Business casual.
