About this Event

The & Festival is an annual celebration of creative writing and publishing, hosted by The Ampersand Review and the Honours Bachelor of Creative Writing & Publishing at Sheridan College. The festival aims to bring together the writing and publishing communities in Canada through the & Books Literary Market, an inspiring keynote by Canisia Lubrin, a series of insightful panels on craft and the industry, and a celebratory soiree to announce the winner of The Ampersand Review Essay Contest.

Friday, October 4th will feature industry workshops with writing and publishing professionals follwed by a soiree to celebrate the opening of the festival.

On Saturday, October 5th there will be four panels, the & Books Literary Market and a keynote followed by a closing reception.

The & Books Literary Market is free and open to the public. A festival ticket grants you access to all festival events, the market, and the soiree. The festival schedule is available now with all the information on panelists, moderators, and the keynote speaker Canisia Lubrin.

Ticket Pricing Policy
  • Early-bird tickets now available for $25.
  • Sheridan students receive free admission to both Friday and Saturday of The & Festival. Student ID is required with purchase and at the door.
  • Non-Sheridan Students have free access to all events on Friday. Purchase is required for Saturday programming. Student ID is required with purchase and at the door.
  • General Admission tickets available to all non-student attendees.
