Following on from the previous talk held 16/08/2025 we commemorate the 80th anniversary of the 8th Army leaving Yarnfield in November 1945. Shaun Farrelly will explore how the United States became embroiled in the conflict and exactly what operations were being carried out for the 8th Army Air Force around Stone between 1942 and 1945. We are fortunate to have accounts from some of the many who passed through the base and from others who were permanent staff during those times.
