Caterpillars have a huge impact on the ecosystems we live in. These tiny superheroes are mighty engines of biodiversity that fuel the food web and sustain birds, pollinators and wildlife. Did you know that one chickadee family alone needs 6,000 to 9,000 caterpillars to feed their young? However, these tiny powerhouses face critical threats. Come join Alan Toney, Master Naturalist, as he explores the impact of caterpillars on our world, their clever survival strategies and their sheer beauty and diversity. He will delve into how we can admire and support caterpillars while managing their impact on ornamentals and food crops. Prepare to be amazed! FREE! All are welcome. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Walk-ins are welcome but please register at the link so we know how many to expect.
