This one of a kind exclusive event is hosted by London’s own Queen of Rhythm & Blues Aisha Khan with very special guests Laura B and the Hey Las.
Aisha Khan sings American roots music, Jazz, Blues and Rhythm & Blues of the 1940’s/50’s. With a nod to the glamour and sophistication of a bygone era and over 30 years of experience, coupled with an unrivalled passion for the music, she combines outstanding original material with powerful cover versions and performs them all with class, soul, talent and wit. Equal Parts sultry Jazz chanteuse and Rhythm and Blues belter, Aisha easily communicates heartbreak, joy and a range of emotions in between, continuing to honour the tradition of the true Divas.
Her band The Rajahs comprises of some of the cream of the UK’s Blues musicians including featuring Al Nicholls (Blue Harlem, Sister Suzie, the Big Six, the Big Town Playboys) on sax, Mal Barclay (The Cadillac Kings, Katie Bradley, Oo-Bop-Sh,Bam) on guitar, Matt Radford (Nick Lowe, Tanita Tikaram, Big Joe Louis) on Bass, Danny Howard (King Kurt, The Mamboleros, the Savage Hornets) on drums.
Laura B is a powerful singer of authentic R&B, inspired by original legends like Ruth Brown, Big Maybelle, Lavern Baker and Etta James.. She performs with a seven-piece band at festivals and events across the UK and Europe, and has released two albums of original songs.
The Hey Las are an all-round, vintage vocal-harmony trio, bringing you the best of the classic girl groups from the ’50s and ’60s. Think The Shangri-Las, The Ronettes, The Chordettes and The Chiffons. From jukebox diner pop, sultry teen doo wop and motown to dark Lynchian sounds, they perform a nostalgic soundtrack of hits. Always dressed to impress, they are also known for their authentic vintage style, big hair and killer dresses.
