About this Event
The Air We Breathe: Exhibition Opening
Join us for The Air We Breathe exhibition opening in the Bronx—an afternoon of art, community, and conversation exploring environmental justice, housing, and the future of our built environment.
Welcome to The Air We Breathe!
This exhibition brings together Bronx residents—community members, leaders, educators, and students—alongside emerging designers from Pratt Institute to reimagine what our homes and neighborhoods can be. A collaboration between Mothers on the Move and the Pratt Institute Undergraduate Architecture Program, hosted at BronxArtSpace, this exhibition asks what it would take to build a greener Bronx.
Explore a thoughtful collection of experimental architectural projects, material studies, and community-driven proposals that ask what our buildings are made of—and who they are for. Each work points toward healthier, more sustainable futures rooted in local, low-carbon materials.
As you move through the exhibition, engage with organizers, designers, and neighbors in a welcoming, daytime atmosphere centered on conversation and connection. This is more than an exhibition—it’s a space to gather, reflect, and imagine new possibilities for the Bronx and beyond.
Join us for an afternoon of creativity, dialogue, and shared vision—where frontline experience becomes design expertise, and where the future of our communities is shaped together.
Opening remarks will begin at 2:00 PM. Light refreshments will be provided.
Reserve your free ticket today. Space is limited.
