About this Event

Join us for a presentation of new, groundbreaking research on antisemitism and Islamophobia on college campuses after Oct. 7 and a discussion with a distinguished panel on its implications for safety and free speech on campus.

Professor Robert Pape, Director of the Chicago Project on Security and Threats, will present the findings of his latest study, "Understanding Campus Fears After October 7 and How to Reduce Them" based on national surveys of U.S. college students and American adults fielded in December 2023 and January 2024.

To discuss the implications of the findings, Professor Pape will be joined by two distinguished panelists from the University of Chicago, Dean of Students in the University Michelle Rasmussen and Professor of Law and renowned First Amendment scholar Geoffrey Stone.

Tony Banout, Executive Director of the Forum for Free Inquiry and Expression at the University of Chicago, will moderate the event.

When: May 2, 2024; 4pm to 6pm

Where: The David Rubenstein Forum's Friedman Hall on the Campus of the University of Chicago AND via Online

Livestream: The event will be livestreamed. Remote participants will be able to ask questions of the panel. Livestream link will be sent out a week prior to the event.
