About this Event
Hosted by our very own K.J. Whitehead, The Afterglow is a queer variety show that plays as a safe space for queer artistic exploration. Come and see the very best of what Chicago's queer performance scene has to offer and share the space with other queer/trans members of the community. This is an extension of @glow.openmic at The Understudy in Andersonville.
Our vision is to create a transformative and inclusive platform where queer, trans, and non-binary artists can freely express their authentic selves. We aspire to build a community that celebrates diversity, fosters understanding, and catalyzes social change through the power of art. The Afterglow aims to be a beacon of creative excellence and cultural significance, providing a sober environment that highlights the crucial role of art in collective healing and societal transformation.
This installment of The Afterglow will only feature black artists in observance of Black History Month.
The event will take place inside "The Berry" space of the Bramble, which is on the 2nd floor. Both stairs and an elevator are available to get to the space.
February 28th Line-Up to be announced.
Gender neutral bathrooms are available.
Masking will not be required, but we will have masks available.
THIS IS, AND ALWAYS WILL BE, A SOBER EVENT.
