The Affordable Housing Deficit: Challenges and Solutions

The Uniondale Community Uniondale Trust Inc., is a not-for profit founded in 2010 in response to the 2008-9 Housing Crisis. Uniondale Community Land Trust Inc. will be hosting its second Long Island Housing Symposium during the Fair Housing Month of April. The symposium will look at the legal, financial, and environmental challenges associated with the construction, development and retention of affordable houses within the housing stock in the counties of Nassau and to a lesser extent Suffolk. Central to this discussion is the proposal made earlier this year by Governor Kathy Hochul.
