"Performance artists are fluxing creatures that run through the body all the time, fervently plucking at the strings of consciousness with the torso. Questioning. How to return to being a creature, to escape from the intimate dwelling and order, to recall one's subject? How to invert power relations, to occupy old territory, and to rewrite the history of individual exsistence? How to defect from the collective unconsciousness, to grow, to acquire an independent living posture, and to strike back at the lapel of collectivism and spectacle? The performance artists are always monks fighting in this land of sparseness and abundance."
