About this Event
826 Valencia is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting under-resourced students ages six to eighteen with their creative and expository writing skills and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. 826 Valencia comprises three writing centers—a flagship location in the Mission District, a center in the Tenderloin neighborhood, and a new center on the ground floor of an affordable housing building in Mission Bay —and three satellite classrooms at nearby public schools. All of their programs are offered free of charge to make them accessible to as many students as possible. We are excited to partner with 826 Valencia for the release of The 826 Quarterly, Volume 29, an anthology of the most dynamic writing from across their programs. Join these young authors, foreword writer Kevin Dublin, and cover designer Yétúndé Olagbaju to celebrate this exciting new publication showcasing youth voices. Free.
This program is indoors. Mask and proof of vaccination are required at the door. Please read the requirements at litquake.org/covid.
