The legendary 80’s Night returns on 1st November 2026 at the Whitby Friendship ARC.
WHO?
Kat, Jaye, and Landmine have been involved in The 80s Night in Whitby for over fifteen years, with many more years of club and event DJing between us.
WHAT?
The 80s Night has been a Whitby tradition for several decades since its start at Laughtons (justly renowned for the unintended indoor 'water' feature). We mostly play the kind of 80s tunes you're unlikely to hear at the goth nights. The night is about everyone having fun, so no need to impress. This is a safe space, and discriminatory behaviour will result in removal.
WHERE?
The 80s Night is now running at Whitby Friendship A.R.C., entered via the red door on Church Street. It's a Challenge 25 venue, so please bring photo ID if you're lucky enough to look more like Kat than like Landmine. There is a small stone step at the door, but beyond that the venue has level access. Please contact us with any access queries.
WHEN?
The red door opens to the queue at 7pm, and we stop the music and try to herd you out at 11pm. The venue has seating, but it does get snapped up quickly, so come early if you want to claim a perch.
HOW?
Pay £8 on the door, cash or card. We reserve the right to refuse admission. If you've still got some 80s finery, it'll be appreciated, but it's not mandatory.

Because. You need a better reason? OK, because we wanted to keep some of the traditions going.
