It's back ... under a new name!
After the success of our first series on Independent Film Showcases, we have set up another event to show off more fantastic films made by local Independent Filmmakers.
This time there is a programme of 4 Short Films and 1 Feature made by Local Filmmakers, followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers in attendance.
This is set to be another great night of NZ Indie film. So came along, meet the filmmakers, and see some of the great work local that local creatives have been making.
Films start at 7:30pm

Short Films
Strangers - directed by James Fink-Jensen
We've all felt the nerve-wracking pressure of making a crucial first impression.
An awkward journalist's first date is disrupted by a man seen in the cafe window.
In a lush and vibrant cafe on the outskirts of Tāmaki, Auckland, each character embarks on a colourful journey in a short time.

The Push - directed by Kyan Krumdieck
After Tash thinks she sees someone get pushed off a distant cliff in the New Zealand wilderness, she and her boyfriend Dan have to sleep in a hiking hut with a possible killer.

Kicking Stones (Goodspace music Video)
Tāmaki Makurau’s Goodspace teams up with Italy-based animator Ehsan Mehrbakhsh to create a universe of lo-fi, trip-hop surrealism on ‘Kicking Stones’. Written, recorded and produced in his home studio in Auckland, Goodspace aka Jefferson Chen, shows his love for the spaces between and beyond genres, diving deeper into hip-hop influences while retaining a rock'n'roll edge. Exploring themes of false first impressions and upturned expectations, Ehsan Mehrbakhsh's continuously changing and surreal animations perfectly and bizarrely transcribe sound into vision.

Greasy Lines - directed by Joshua Solomon
featuring the poetry of Dominic Hoey

Feature Presentation
The Limestone Surveyors - directed by F. Theodore Elliott
After the discovery of a strange mineral in a remote limestone quarry, a group of surveyors are sent in to investigate. Their analysis begins. Things start to shift. The lights go down. The film begins.
