Mortgage rates oscillate, pendulum-like, adding additional uncertainty to a market driven by sellers unwilling to deviate from their listing price demands, and buyers still unwilling or unable to forego the 3% mortgage financing they acquired in better times. Add the confusion surrounding tariffs, inflation, and stock market volatility, not to mention a miasma of industry data showing reduced new start construction, variable inventory levels, and lengthening days-on-market into the mix, and even Nostradamus would be hard-pressed to deliver a prediction.
