Calling all pie bakers and pie eaters! The Great Berwyn Pie Bake-Off is back!!!!
Open to all local home bakers, your sweet or savory pie could win bragging rights AND a cool prize!!! Prizes TBA
Details for pie eaters:
1. Come to Prairie Oak School on Sunday, October 16th with a good appetite and plenty of cash.
2. You'll be able to purchase samples of all the pies while the judges determine the winners.
3. Once the winners have been declared, you'll be able to bid on your favorite pies in a live auction while supporting AWAKE's mission. You can take it home and eat the whole pie knowing that you helped support leadership, justice and good relationships in our community!
Details for pie bakers:
1. Entries should be in the name of the person who baked the pie.
2. A full recipe with list of ingredients and directions must be submitted for review. Will not be publicly shared.
3. One entry per baker. Each entry is to include two identical pies: one for judging and one for auctioning off to charity.
4. Please bring pie entries in disposable pie pans.
5. Winners may be asked for permission to have their photos taken for promotional use.

C. Any ingredient that is a common food allergy.
7. Bakers will bring TWO IDENTICAL PIES to Prairie Oak Elementary School on 10/16/2021 by 1pm. Judging will begin at 1:30pm.
8. The contest is open to all Berwyn bakers (if enough interest is shown by younger participants, we will open a kids' pie category).
9. Pies that need special handling such as heating or cooling elements are not allowed. The finished pie cannot contain raw/uncooked eggs.
10. Pies are scored on appearance, crust, filling and overall flavor/taste. Categories of pies (such as savory or traditional) will be determined based on how many pies are entered into the contest.

12. Following the judging, the whole pies will be auctioned off to the crowd. All proceeds benefit AWAKE.
