The 2nd Annual Ocean View "Storm the Bay" Race Series Presented by The Tidewater Striders

This isn't the cushy road race that you're used to. For the Saturday 5K Challenge, 10K, and the Mermaid Mile Kid's Fun Run (for kids 12 and under) There is no official timing...there are no assigned corrals...there are no wave starts. There are no points for 2nd place! To win...you gotta be at the front of the pack at the start line...when the cannon goes off. You have to complete all of the obstacles, go the distance, and cross the finish line first.Whining is not allowed. Snowflakes...this isn't for you. So before you consider signing up for this event, you really need to ask yourself..."Am I tough enough?"
The races in this series are the:
Storm the Bay 5K Challenge (Road/Beach surface with Beach Obstacle Course)
Storm the Bay 10K (Road/Beach Surface Run Only)
Storm the Bay Half Marathon (Road/Beach Surface Run Only)
AWARDS for Half Marathon
Top 3 overall female and male finishers in the following categories: Overall, Masters, 19&under, 5-year age groups 20-74 and 75+.
Prize money will be awarded to the top 3 male and female and overall male and female masters winners.
1st place Male & Female Overall $100
2nd place Male & Female Overall $75
3rd place Male & Female Overall $50
1st place Male & Female Masters $50
Competitors 1st wave, non-competitors 2nd. All participants will receive official timing.

The OV/OG (Ocean View Original Gangsta) Challenge
(5K Challenge and 10K Back-to-Back)
Mixed surface course consisting of paved roadways and beach sand.
Run the 5K Challenge and 10K Back-to-Back on Saturday for a total of 9.3 miles!!! All competitors are REQUIRED to successfully complete all of the obstacle course challenge stations or they will be disqualified.
To complete the OV/OG Challenge, On Saturday the 14th, the participants have 1 hour to complete the Storm the Bay Challenge with obstacle courses, and be at the start line, ready to run and complete the Storm the Bay 10K at 9:00 AM.
Non-competitive runners will not be eligible for race prizes. 1st place will be awarded to the top female and female winner. There are no points for second place!
The Top Gun Challenge (5K Challenge and 10K Back-to-Back on Saturday the 14th then the Ocean View Half Marathon on Sunday the 15th)
Mixed surface course consisting of paved roadways and beach sand.
Run the 5K Challenge and 10K Back-to-Back on Saturday then the Ocean View Half Marathon on Sunday for a total of 22.4 Miles!! All competitors are REQUIRED to successfully complete all of the obstacle course challenge stations on the 5K Challenge or they will be disqualified. To complete the Top Gun Challenge, On Saturday the 14th, the participants have 1 hour to complete the Storm the Bay Challenge with obstacle courses, and be at the start line, ready to run and complete the Storm the Bay 10K at 9:00 AM. Then be back at the start line ready to run the Ocean View Half Marathon on Sunday, October 15th at 7:30 AM.
Non-competitive runners will not be eligible for race prizes. 1st place will be awarded to the top female and female winner. There are no points for second place!
PACKET PICK-UP:
Advance packet pick-up will be at Cova Brewery in Norfolk, VA on October 13th & 14th. More details coming soon! Race day packet pickup will be available for both Race Days.
