About this Event

Clients talk to their stylist, barber, braider, nail tech or esthetician during long, one-on-one appointments built on trust. Beauty professionals often notice signs no one else sees, but most have never been trained for that moment.

Care in the Chair™ is trauma-aware, DV-aware client care training for beauty professionals. You'll learn practical, trauma-aware ways to notice when something's wrong, respond with care, and connect clients to resources.

You won't be asked to investigate or intervene. You'll learn to listen, refer clients to resources, and connect clients to local advocates.

Where: City Hall Plaza Pavilion, City Hall Plaza, Boston, MA.

Facilitators: Rica Elysée, co-founder of Care in the Chair™ and founder of BeautyLynk®, and Dr. Charmain F. Jackman, licensed psychologist and founder and CEO of InnoPsych.

Lunch: Lunch will be provided.

Who it's for: Licensed beauty professionals, including stylists, barbers, braiders, nail techs and estheticians. Free to attend, and seats are limited.

This event may be photographed and filmed. Tell us at check-in if you'd prefer not to appear on camera.
