About this Event

Nothing beats a good laugh, and we can promise you a few at our 2nd Annual Age Boldly Show in the East Village.

Five performers will give us their spin on this chapter of life and the state of the world. Plus, we'll serve wine and dessert to help the laughs along. NextTribe Founder Jeannie Ralston will host.

Act One:

Maddie Corman and Eve Plumb will join Jenny Allen in reading a short selection of her pieces from the New Yorker and elsewhere.

Jenny Allen's collection of humor pieces, Would Everyone Please Stop?, was a Thurber Prize finalist. She has performed her play I GOT SICK THEN I GOT BETTER at New York Theatre Workshop and around the country.

Maddie Corman is an actress-writer-teacher living and working in NY. Her award-winning solo piece ACCIDENTALLY BRAVE was recently filmed for theatrical release with Steven Soderbergh as producer.

Eve Plumb has been acting in television and film since the age of six, and is known for playing Jan in "The Brady Bunch." Recently, she appeared in "A Spectacular Christmas" for the Hallmark Channel. Her home accessories and coffee lines can be found at www.plumbgoods.tv.

Act Two:

At last year's performance, Cynthia Kaplan had us grabbing our ribs and wishing for a box of Depends. This year, she returns with Karen Bergreen, her partner in the Ruthless Comedy Hour.

Cynthia Kaplan is a NYC based writer, musician and actress. She is the author of two acclaimed collections of comic essays, Why I’m Like This: True Stories, a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers book and a Booksense bestseller, and Leave the Building Quickly. Her original production Cindy of Arc was a 2023 Finalist for the Richard Rogers Award for Musical Theater.

Karen Begreen is a comedian, actor, and author who has performed all over the country (and sometimes in other countries, if you count Canada). Karen can be seen at just about every club in New York and is a regular at Gotham, The Comic Strip and Broadway Comedy Club. Karen has been on Comedy Central, The Oxygen Network, Court TV, and USA networks.
