This year's Entertainer of the Year Pageant will be held on Friday, October 11th 2024 at 1030 p.m. at Club 200, 190 Garry Street, Winnipeg.
Applications can be picked up at Club 200 starting Friday Aug 30th 2024 are due by Tuesday, October 01 2024. Please drop them off at Club 200.
Each candidate for Entertainer of the Year will be judged on a 100 point system which encompasses:
Performance One
Performance Two
Outfits
Question & Answer
The Entertainer of the Year Pageant will be judged by a panel of five consisting of: one board director, one College of Monarchs’ member, one SOMS member, One Community Member and this years Current Monarch.
Upon entry to the venue where the Pageant is held, patrons will receive a ballot to vote for the candidates of their choice.
The Entertainer of the Year is an annual title of The Snowy Owl Monarchist Society, Inc. The term of volunteer service commences, whenever possible, by the third week of October, and finishes one full calendar year later. Should it not be possible to hold the Entertainer of the Year Pageant about the third week of October in any given year, said Pageant should be held no later than November 30.
The Snowy Owl Monarchist Society’s Entertainer of the Year’s policy is as follows:
1. The Entertainer of the Year shall uphold and promote the Aims and Objectives of the SOMS and shall, act as a goodwill ambassador from SOMS to the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities of Manitoba
2. The Entertainer of the Year shall organize a minimum of two fundraising events during their term.
3. The Entertainer of the Year shall represent the SOMS as chair of its committee which organizes and creates an SOMS float for the annual Winnipeg Pride parade.
4. The Entertainer of the Year shall be awarded a command performance by the current reigning monarch(s) on behalf of the SOMS at the annual Coronation Ball.
5. The Entertainer of the Year shall play an active role in the organization of the subsequent Entertainer of the Year pageant.
6. The Entertainer of the Year Pageant shall be planned and presented by the board of directors.
7. The Entertainer of the Year shall periodically present updates at meetings of the board of directors.
8. A member of the board of directors shall be appointed annually to serve for a one-year period as the guiding mentor of the Entertainer of the Year.
9. The reigning Monarch(s) shall be responsible for ensuring that the Entertainer of the Year is meeting the requirements of the position.
