About this Event
In partnership with Seagram's Escapes, Keep Pinellas Beautiful will host multiple cleanups with BeBot demonstrations across Pinellas County during the month of July! The BeBot Beach Tour Series aims to educate and engage the community while cleaning up trash on local beaches. Before volunteers begin their cleanup, KPB staff will present and demo the BeBot. At the end of the event, KPB staff will assist volunteers in sorting out the small litter collected by the BeBot. Collected debris will then be displayed and discussed!
What is a BeBot?
Donated to Keep Florida Beautiful by Surfing's Evolution and Preservation Foundation, a charitable organization that maintains healthy Florida beaches, the BeBot serves as a teaching tool to work alongside cleanup volunteers. The BeBot collects discarded small debris at the sand's surface level under the remote control of trained staff. The eco-friendly companion removes litter such as fragmented plastics and cigarette butts that might otherwise go unnoticed. This new technology is a unique way to captivate beachgoers’ attention for an opportunity to educate them on litter prevention and waste reduction in honor of Plastic Free July. Don't miss your chance to witness the BeBot in action!
