Are you intrigued by tamales? Ever wondered what was in them or how to make them? Then this class is for you!
Our chef instructor will share some insider knowledge about this ancient delicacy, believed to have orginated in Mesoamerica – the land between North and South America. Perhaps best known for its Mexican version, the tamale is made of masa, which is a type of corn dough, and filled with different ingredients, such as seasoned meats, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, and/or chilies. Then, it is steamed in either a corn husk or banana leaf. The fun part? You can use the husk or leaf as a disposable plate!
In this class, you will sample a few tamales. You also will make and be able to take home your own amazing creations to share with family and friends. We're sure your efforts will result in praises of muy delicioso!

What To Expect
Great cooking is about more than just recipes—it's about celebrating culinary experiences with a foodie community. In this class, our professional chef instructor will show you how to create this fabulous menu, as well as offer you an exciting opportunity to assist in the kitchen.
Instructor: Chef April
Length: Approximately 3 hours.
Format: Hands-On. Stir up your inner chef as you work with other students, typically in groups of four people, guided by the Chef Instructor. You’ll be standing and cooking during the class, so please wear comfortable, closed-toed shoes and have long hair tied back. Make sure to bring your appetite because you will enjoy all the dishes created during the class.
Restrictions: Ages 16 and older. Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

All students will receive 10% off any scheduled public class(es) purchased that evening.
